About Us

Sober Eastbourne is a carefully curated directory of recovery resources and tools, designed to support anyone on their journey to sobriety and wellbeing. Based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, we bring together the most useful resources for sober living, addiction recovery, productivity, and mental health support—all in one accessible place.

Our Story

Founded in 2020 during the first UK COVID-19 lockdown, Sober Eastbourne began as a direct response to the challenges facing the recovery community. When social distancing restrictions limited in-person meetings, our directory became a vital bridge, connecting people to online AA Zoom meetings and digital support networks.

The site is curated by Adrian Fusiarski, who has lifelong personal experience with alcohol use disorder (AUD). His journey from UK pop chart success to homelessness and recovery provides unique insight into the challenges and possibilities of healing. This lived experience of navigating both the highs and lows of life informs every resource recommendation on the site.

What We Offer

Our comprehensive free directory includes:

  • Recovery Resources: 12 Step programs, AA tools, and addiction recovery support
  • Sober Living: Practical resources for building and maintaining a sober lifestyle
  • Mental Health: Support services and tools for emotional wellbeing
  • Practical Support: Money advice, productivity apps, and organisational tools
  • Community: Recommended sober podcasts and mindful drinking resources
  • Personal Development: GTD methodology, productivity systems, and self-help resources

Our Impact

In our first year alone, Sober Eastbourne welcomed over 20,000 visitors, underscoring the genuine need for accessible, organised recovery resources. We continue to grow as a trusted source for anyone seeking to organise the chaos and find their path to recovery.

Disclaimer

A Note of Care and Responsibility.

“…Our mission is to provide a friendly, safe, and supportive community for anyone in Eastbourne and beyond looking to change their relationship with alcohol.

It is important to us to be transparent: We are a peer-led community group, not medical professionals. The information we share comes from lived experience and is for mutual support. It is not a substitute for professional medical or therapeutic advice. We always encourage our website users to seek guidance from qualified healthcare providers for their personal journey.
